Field to Feast 

This week’s episode is at Long and Scott Farms, the host of the Field to Feast charity event in the greater Orlando area. Hank took me out on the farm that morning and showed me some of the crops and then in the afternoon we enjoyed the event put on by Disney and Edible Orlando – all for an amazing cause. The fundraiser was to support the Kids Cafe of the Second Harvest Food Bank. They help to provide meals for food insecure children in the community. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, farmers are the most generous, kind, community minded bunch I’ve ever been around.

Hank explaining how they raise and lower the water table on their Florida farm and me, attempting to understand because it’s so scientific and I avoided science classes like the plague in school. (Hank is really, really, really smart).

Brady directed this episode on location and he crushed it!  

That really big pole being held up is called a boom and it makes sure we sound great. 

Then it was time to change for the event. I took my hair outta my braids (and it went practically straight in 10 seconds thanks to the Florida humidity), put on a cute dress, and grabbed a glass of wine that Master Sommelier George recommended.

This was a “sweet” station at the Field to Feast and it was by the Magic Kingdom Bakery. It was a little flight of goodies inspired by the different areas in Magic Kingdom! Oh and Cinderella’s sugar slipper “disappeared” when liquid was poured on top of it, how cool!
