Pork Chops and Apple Sauce

My grandmother was an amazing chef. To this day our family still swears by her turkey recipe at every holiday. It’s followed religiously and no one ever complains about it being dry. She passed down her love for extravagant meals and successful experimentation to both her son, my Uncle Chris, and her daughter. Who then passed it down to me.

So back in season one when Uncle Chris and I were kicking ideas back and forth about what we could do for an episode, we knew we had to cook together! And what else could be on the menu but pork chops and apple sauce? After all, that is the name of his segment on the show.

I’m just now realizing that I never posted the recipe for our pork chops and apple sauce or the clip of that great day. We had way too much fun, doing something we both loved, together. He made a delicious chop that is slathered in more garlic than should be legal and I paired it with my not too sweet apple sauce. They complimented each other perfectly and make an easy start of the school year dinner.

Pro tip: the meal tastes that much more divine when you make it with someone 🙂

My husband and I are farmers in northern Illinois. We find Christopher Knight has the exact idea of what modern day farming is all about as we do. We feel he should be heard by the general public, not just ag related viewers.
Agriculture is miss understood by the masses, and Chris has way of explaining GMO’s, organic verses non organic, animal husbandry, etc.
We wish we could see and hear him on mainstream news and channels.
Help us find him him a way into being an ag spokesperson.
